    Morning N,
I was about to start the exact same thread I've just read iClarifieds walk through for the Mac (http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=12380)
Seems fairly complicated, by comparison to the geohot jailbreaks we have gotten used to and Mac only so I too would like to know if this is available for the PC. I
t's potentially a super little piece of kit but way too restricted I have over 150 movies in my Media centre library, and apple TV recognizes 7 of them:mad: so the sooner a jailbreak is available to unleash the full power of the ATV. Interesting that XBMC is available for the iPad, I'm going to look into installing it this morning and will report back if I can manage ti get it working.

I presume you have created a US iTunes account for the Atv? It seems to be very easy to buy iTunes credit on eBay. There was a very simple step by step posted a few days ago, there is a much larger choice of movies and tv shows.

I think GreenPois0n can jailbreak it? Not 100% sure tho

Edit: Or you could google for an already jailbroken custom ipsw for it.

That wouldn't work as it's a tethered boot and you need a program to do that, and they're only on the Mac at the moment.

I was wrong. You can do it, but you need a custom IPSW already built. I have just jailbroken mine and installed XBMC in windows.

    Sweet

Just be sure to have the power cable taken out before you restore your IPSW.
That is, go into DFU mode with only the micro-usb connected.

Bought one of these the other day with the intension for jail breaking it but I mistakenly upgraded the software.
I wanted to jailbreak with green poison. (untethered)
Anyone know how long I have to wait for the next jailbreak to come out. What is the average waiting time after apple release an update?

If you are looking to stream to you iPad, or indeed to your Apple TV, you can without a jailbreak. To get the files to play on Apple TV you would need to stream them to your iPad first and then to Apple TV.

The app Airvideo, which has bend around for a while, is now AirPlay enabled so you can stream a video file to the iPad and then select Apple TV on your iPad to output it too and hey presto, the video and audio appears on your display.

Works very well for what it is.
