Speed Measurement discrepancies

Can anyone shed any light as to why I would have such a difference in both tests conducted within 1 second of each other. I am on a WIRED connection. IRISH ISP RESULTS : 8.74Mb Down & 1.93Mb Up.

More than about 6Mbps is difficult to test on a Speedtest website due to congestion of the speedtest server or connection to it.
