It is a wish... but I've stated in this thread and others that I would fully expact Adams to walk in. That's why he was running in Louth. I've heard several rumours (so no point in supplying a source) that it may not be so easy for him. Obviously looking at early numbers this is (unfortunately) not the case.

    Thanks.

Pleased for O'Dowd thus far, even if it is quite early. Looking at Twitter, he's only 60 votes ahead at the moment.

It's a personal story but the guy impressed me back when I was in school. My debate team made the All-Ireland debating finals, and he sent a letter addressed to us via the school, wishing us luck. It was a nice gesture and more than he had to do. Not saying I'd vote for someone just for that reason, but I thought it was nice that he obviously was keeping a small eye on local school news and was decent enough to get in contact with some students to congratulate them somewhat...

In easily. Only question is if he is #1 or #2.

Peter Fitzpatrick - Are things that bad?

As nice a fella as he seems to be - he can barely string a sentence together!!

GA will top the poll comfortably.

Lets not kid ourselves the GA is just getting votes from Dundalk . He got a massive vote in Drogheda i would say , and please god keep fitzpatrick out . He is an incoherent fool of a man when it comes to politics .Stick to gaa .

    Final tallies in.
    Adams 21.9%
    O'Dowd 20.3%
    Nash 12.5%
    Fitz 11.1%
    Carroll 8.2%
    Breathnach 7.4%

So there you go. Not as big a win as I thought GA would get to be honest. Be interesting to see how he does and what he brings to Louth as our rep now.
