You're not going to get peno's when your strikers are never in the box

did the predictor again and have us coming 4th! 1 point ahead of chelsea

one thing for sure , its going to be mighty close

Good man Mick, I didnt do it meself lately, no point cos I always have us ahead. I could nearly have us finish ahead of Man U.

I hope Fellaini Flattens a few of them tonight. I also hope the ref sends off a few gooner players cos they deserve it for playing for "that" team. I am not biased, I swear.

hoping for a draw tonight and Fulham to do us a favour on Wednesday. Just hope our lads can do the business on sunday cause I'm after getting a shock looking at the form table. It has us in tenth over our last 6 games with a goal difference of +1 :(. Anyone know if bale and lennon are going to be back?

Everton Giving it a good go. Come on the toffees.

Not much team news on Spurs cos they were all off resting for a few days. I know they were saying Bale be back for the City game but I have my doubts as clubs always seem to be overly optimistic on these things. Will be a big boost if he is, obviously.

Good enough for the Gooner b@stards! They rode their luck v West Brom and Norwich, hopefully their form drops and Fulham do us a favour..

    just read this on mirror online;

City break: Spurs' Gareth Bale faces uphill battle to be fit to take on Manchester City

16 Apr 2013 22:30 Tottenham winger couldn't train on Tuesday when squad reunited after a weekend off - but there's more encouraging news on fellow crock Defoe

Tottenham-Hotspur-v-Newcastle-United--Premier-League-1646516.jpg Bale out? Will Tottenham have their star available on Sunday? Richard Heathcote

Gareth Bale's chances of facing Manchester City on Sunday are fading.
Tottenham star Bale remains a major doubt for the crunch showdown with City, although Spurs’ medical staff are hoping he will be able to train by the end of the week.
The Welshman damaged ankle ligaments in a European game against Basel nearly two weeks ago, and Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas was hoping he would make a return in time to face the champions on Sunday.
However, Bale’s chances of being fit to start against City at White Hart Lane appear to be faltering.
AVB gave his players an extended break following the Londoners' European exit on penalties in Switzerland last Thursday, as the FA Cup semi-finals meant they had a free weekend.
When the squad reported on Tuesday, Bale and Aaron Lennon - who is also struggling to be ready for City, because of a knee injury - were not ready to train.
There is better news on England striker Jermain Defoe, though.
Defoe has been in every day for treatment after missing the last three games, and did some training at the weekend.
Villas-Boas is hopeful the 30-year-old will make it on Sunday to help Tottenham's push to finish in the Champions League places.

Bale can miss training right up until sunday because his fitness levels are so high.

i cant see him making it though . i think both him and lennon will miss much of the rest of the season.

p.s. i also think city will beat us !

Sorry to go off topic but did anyone watch the programme on Sky Sports after the match last night, golden games or some craic? They showed the 4 -4 game against Chelsea at the lane, we were down 3-1.

Berbatov nearly won it at the death only for a super save from Carlo. Keane with a terrific strike, and Huddlestone with a deft finish. Lennon was the only player by my reckoning in today's team. God I miss Berbatov.

Yeah saw it alright, I remember watching that on a stream back then. Keane and Berba were some partnership.

Yeah fantastic understanding they had between them. If and when we do bring in a striker/strikers I wanna feel that excitement I did back then.

    Chelsea PL run-in:

    Apr 17 Fulham A
    Apr 21 Liverpool A
    Apr 28 Swansea City H
    May 5 Manchester United A
    May 8 Tottenham Hotspur H
    May 12 Aston Villa A
    May 19 Everton H

That is a tough set of fixtures; not to mention they have Basel away on the 25th April and at home on the 2nd May.

yep .arsenal have easiest run in, chelsea have the hardest

if we avoid defeat on sunday then we have a good chance

Im not too fazed if Bale doesnt play against City to be honest....
I think we may well still get beaten even if he does play....
Id rather him get the extra few days ankle recovery, and then its all systems go for the run in.....
Nothing worse than see him hobble of after 65 mins on sunday and us a goal or 2 down at that stage....

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,443 ✭✭✭jobeenfitz

It seems there isn't much optimism for a result against City, Well I for one am expecting us to get a result.

In our last two league games we beat Swansea(away) and drew with Everton(home). I know we have injury doubts but the squad should be refreshed and raring to go for Sunday. City are good but this will be their third game in a week and may just give us a slight edge, 3-2 to Spurs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,284 ✭✭✭DubPerryman

I think we'll get a draw against City. Though I agree with Devo, there's no need to risk Bale. We need to be beating the teams we 'should' be beating i.e. Wigan, Southampton, Stoke and Sunderland.

I don't think anyone has an easy run in. Chelsea have fixture congestion, while us and Arsenal have teams fighting to stay in the league.

At least a draw against City would be nice in order to steady the ship, then a win away to Wigan could put us in to a great position and run of form before a home game against Southampton (who are safe) and a big 'six pointer' against Chelsea.

    COYS!

God Fulham are hopeless, don't think they will get anything off the gooners either. How the hell did we lose at home to them
