BXD will happen eventually, but what about future extentions north? This may not happen for 20 years at least, and by then, there may be a lot of development in Scribblestown and Dunsink! Contract for the new public transport bridge over the Liffey has been awarded.

Should one be so presumptious as to see that as an indication that BXD is likely to get the nod over Metro North, Dart Underground or the Dart Airport link. I hope (or had hoped?) it is the DU that gets approved as it will actually integrate the Greater Dublin Area's rail-based system.
