Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As the title says, anyone know of any good deals on laptops at the moment?

The gf is buying her father a laptop for his birthday for playing about with. Basically solitaire and a few other basic things. A few of the kids might be using it too for Facebook and all the rest.

I think she said her budget is about €400, maybe €450. I despise netbooks so can't find it in myself to recommend one to her, so laptops only. :)

The thing is, I havent a clue of any places that would sell a decent laptop. When I think of any places I know that do sell laptops, I've always considered them to be rip-offs.
So, does anyone know a decent shop that sells laptops in Dublin, or an online shop that I can get a good deal?

    Thanks.

You should buy somewhere close to where your dad lives. Lot easier on everybody if there's a problem. Also watch the prices as what you see advertised in the papers can be more expensive than the shop next door. This is very true in the case of Harvey Norman / currys / pc world.

As a retailer visiting the big name stores before Christmas I increased all my laptop prices and still was cheaper than the big boys.

There's no difference between a local toshiba and a Harvey Norman toshiba only the after care service;)

    Don't be afraid to haggle!!!
