Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i got a free to air cheapy system for a chrimbo present and want to mount it on my mothers house, first problem is she doesn't want it on the front of the house but the back,
the back of the house is north facing and i can see all the other dishes in the area are facing south east .
i was going to mount it on the side of the shed in the back garden but it would be facing the back wall of the house about 15 feet away , does the dish need line of sight to work ? i see a lot of dishes pointing towards walls trees etc.

I'm not an expert, but you would need line of sight alright. Presumably a tree wouldn't be too much of an issue if it's sparse. You could enter the location on http://www.dishpointer.com/ and check what angle you need to point it at, and see if anything's in the way.

What about on the side of the house? Or attached to the chimney (suicidal diy installation notwithstanding!)?

i'd like to put it on the chimney but am not good with heights , i might just try it on the shed and see what happens , if it doesn't work there is no harm done. its just i have seen so many and they appear to be pointing at walls, trees and other obstructions so i just wondered.
