Win and we're 5 points clear. Too good to be true, we'll fúck it up :(.

    1-1.

    Should be a cracker!

    3-1 utd.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,709 ✭✭✭CR 7

    VDS

    Rafael Vidic Rio Fabio

    Nani Fletcher Scholes Giggs

    Rooney Chicharito

[No chance of this being the team, this is what I'd like though.]

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,724 ✭✭✭Vanbis

Looking forward to this game. Another chance to get 3pts and pull further away. I wouldn't be surprised to see Berbatov dropped and Javier to get run and start upfront with Rooney with Scholes back in the midfield.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,838 ✭✭✭✭3hn2givr7mx1sc

I'll be very disappointed if fergie doesn't go 4-4-2 in this game, Charlie Adam is the only player that United need to work hard to stop, imo.

    VDS
    Rafa--Rio--Vidic--Evra
    Nani--Ando--Fletch--Obertan
    Berba---Rooney----

    That's be my preffered selection.

C-mon lads lets get 5 points clear

    Hoping for 3-0,

    VDS
    Raf --Rio -- Vid --Evra
    Nani --Ando--Sch--Giggs
    --Ronney--Berba--

    That team please :)

When is park due back?. .
Is rio still injured?. . If so i think evans should be given a chance considering he played well v liverpool. . Smalling has also done well but i would like to see evans be given another run.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,177 ✭✭✭TheTownie

Someday Fergie will start Chico & Rooney together... Someday... Just not tonight tho! :pac:

If he goes with two, it will definitely be Berba & Rooney.

Well Korea got knocked out earlier today but I say we won't see him until the City match.

I think Fergie is gonna go with a like-for-like attitude regarding Smalling and Evans. If Rio is out, Smalling will be in. If Vidic is out, Evans will be in.

I dont think Rio will start.. Hope he does tho.

As said above could be Smalling

I actually think this is gonna be a seriously tough match, maybe our toughest away match so far, hopefully we can come away with 3 points.

Could be Rooney out the left with United playing a 4-5-1 formation. Lets hope we can get a goal early on and settle things down.

i can feel another 5-0 united win

    just looking at the statistics

Blackpool have won 38% (5/13) of their away games in the top-flight this season, but just three of their nine Premier League home games (33%)

Blackpool’s last eight Premier League goals at Bloomfield Road have been scored by seven different players.

Blackpool have conceded 142 shots on target in the Premier League this season; the most, while the Red Devils have conceded the fewest; 65

Premier League matches at Bloomfield Road this season have averaged 3.4 goals a game

Are Blackpool likely to go 4-3-3?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,513 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

    Adam starts for Blackpool.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,434 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

Rooney on the left has absolutely no positional sense, he should play it like Messi plays on the right for Barca but all he seems to do is stay in one place and get drawn back too often. He is a shadow of the player that plays as a central striker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,883 ✭✭✭smokedeels

4-4-2 to start I reckon, Fletcher or Gibson on the right, with the option of going 4-5-1 with Rooney on one of the wings if required.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,785 ✭✭✭James Forde

I'd rather have Rooney on the left, creating rather than missing sitters a la blackburn

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,724 ✭✭✭Vanbis

I'm shocked to see Gibson starting, big game for him and one he needs to perform.

I'd rather have him in the middle getting back to goalscoring form before the CL comes back, but maybe that's just me...

    +1

Him and Berba and linking up great too, regardless of who's putting the ball in the net.

eh? Blackpool are poor at home and will be completely caught out by any counter attacks, 1-4 to United I reckon.

    Fair point but

doesn't look like happening tbf does it?

I'd say this will be easy for United. 0-4.

    Hurry back Carrick!

He is playing well enough imo. He missed 1 sitter at the weekend but i wouldnt worry too much about it. As long as he is playing well the goals will come. Also berba is getting in the goalscoring positions that Rooney used too, they cant both score 30 goals a season.

Given our away form i will gladly take a 1-0 win to get that 5 point gap.

Thankfully Scholes can hold onto the ball. Gibson can run away from it all he likes tonight...

Must-win game for United. Slip ups like the loss to Burnley last season were to prove very costly. Three points necessary. Come on.

Interesting to see Smalling picked ahead of Evans again. Really shows how well he has developed this season.

If we can sneak an early goal here it could be 4 or 5 but I see this being a difficult match with United prevailing 2-0
