There were some minor scuffles in Johnston Court in Sligo on Saturday afternoon when protesters from The North West branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) held an impromptu protest when the activists became aware that a stall had been set up by Premier Dead Sea Cosmetics in the shopping mall.

The IPSC has called on shopping centres throughout the region not to allow stalls selling Dead Sea cosmetic products, or any other produce emanating from the occupied West Bank or Israel, to operate on their property

What do you think, would you be in favour of the protest, or do you think that the shop assistants deserve to be able to work without this hassle / risk to their jobs.

While I'm very against the activities of Isreal and support the protest in principle, I don't think they should be harassing people in their place of work like this. By all means encourage a boycott, I have been avoiding these stalls for years for this very reason. I think there are less provocative/ more effective ways of going about it.

No shop had to be closed. It was just a stall.

May have become a shop if they left it there any length though and eventually a settlement....

The guys doing the selling were not harassed. The only people who harrassed anyone was one of the traders who started physically pushing one of those protesting around
