Gameboy Classic (DMG) Prosound Mod Advice?

I want to do the prosound mod on my DMG. I was wondering if anyone here has any pros/cons to the different methods. I know some use the original jack, some use a separate jack by drilling the case and some use an external jack via an external wire. Any advice would be great
