Advice needed - Need a PCI sound card for recording

    Hey anyone got any advice, i need a sound card, that needs to double up and have ok input recording capabilities.

    basically this is for an art project i mentioned earlyier, i need the cables (which ones?) that'll take a component output from xbox/dvd player etc (analogue) and record it onto my PC.

    budget as low as possible, without sacrificing too much quality. i actually dont know what im looking for at all, so i have no set budget. any recomendations?

    FWIW im running a 2.1 sound system, and it would be nice to have good quality sound out aswell.
