    renewal came at over twice original payment
    is there any hosting doing special offers now?

    www.ovh.ie were running an offer for 1 year's free hosting and .ie domain registration at the end of last year, but I suspect it's finished by now. As far as I remember, it was still pretty competitive without the offer.

    Well how much is your renewal? Is it just for the domain or hosting too?

    just the domain, I have my files hosted somewhere else
    renewal comes at €45.90, last time round was €20 for the same length of time

    If it's just for domain registration, then I'm fairly sure GoDaddy.com is the cheapest you'll get. I registered a couple of .com domains a few months ago, it came to less than a tenner for each per year.
