Sevilla -v- Real Madrid, 19:00 - Live Sky Sports 3
    Barça v Almeria, 21:00 - Live Sky Sports 3

Puyo and Jeffren are injured whilst Alves only has one full training session in him so is doubtful.

Juanito, fresh from cancelling his contract with Atleti is still injured.

Very nice, i did not know these were on so soon after the quarters, should be a good night of games.

    I'm going for

Should be a tasty affair between Sevilla and Real. Plenty of dirt being fired between them over the last few days. What chance a red card for Christo?

This game is Sevillas season, should be interesting.

    1-0 Madrid, Benzema.

I can see Real Madrid getting to the final from this game, tbh.

They have summed themselves up thus far - shíte.

I do not care if there is only 20 minutes gone of the 180, this tie is over.

Really? I think they've been ok tonight, there creating a lot more than Real so far.

I've seen the 10 odd replays and I still can't call it, I don't think it crossed the line.

Ok just seen it - not convinced it was a goal though saying that Radio Marca are saying it was!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

Sevilla had one chalked off and given a corner instead. The ball was over the line. No way would it have been disallowed had Real got it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,558 ✭✭✭✭dreamers75

Think Sevilla are playing quite well, definite goal tho.

It wasn't IMO, all the ball needs to be over the entire line.

From what I have seen on Sky it aint a goal though Radio Marca are saying it was. Now from my experience of watching football in Spain they will usually have not only different but also more camera angles. I'll see if I can see it later.

Both show the ball is fully over the line.

From those pics, the ball is touching the post. Now if it is touching the post, it can't be over the line as the line is equal with the post.

Plus notice how you can't see all of the ball from the 2nd pic. If the ball is even 1cm on the line, it doesn't count as a goal.

Why isn't it a penalty? I thought it was Real Madrid that got all the decisions. ;)

Hahah, we are turning into a top quality counter attacking side. :p

So Messi's 2nd was Barca's 100th goal of the season in just their 35th match.

    Just WoW.............

edit: It is actually just 33 games if you consider that they didnt score in two.

Messi is personally responsible for 35 of those goals and another 20 assists.

So I suppose he was somewhat responsible for 55 goals so far this season.

Dunno but they are certainly in with a shout of surpassing the 159 they notched up in 2008/2009 when they won the treble.

Compare that with Real Madrid (81) who they hammered, Man United (70) and Chelsea (59) as the other 'challenging teams in Europe'. Thats incredible!

IIRC that was also the year the front 3 scored 100 goals between them, hope that record isn't beaten though, Henry, Messi and Eto'o just rolls off the tongue nicely:P

Are you mad, we have an MVP on our hands if Messi---Villa---Pedro surpass 100.

Not any nicer than Villa, Messi and Pedro imo

Was actually reading a piece on that a couple of days ago - apparently Pedro, Messi and Villa are 8 goals better off compared to the same amount of games in 08/09. (Well that was before this match)

Ahh, Almeria give me hope that I too could be a professional footballer one day :D

    Jizz football.

    Never can get enough.

    5 - 0

    Keita

    What a ball from Messi.

Almeria coach should be sacked (again) for that performance. You don't turn up the Camp Nou without a game plan and expect to get a result. Defence was being overwhelmed too easily, players being dragged all over the park, too much standing off; it was little wonder they were battered.

The only way vastly inferior teams can get a result from Barcelona is by playing deep, using two banks of four players and to then try catching Barca on the counter, or nick a goal with a set piece.
