Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking like i'm in. So long as the bus timetable suits.

D90 with just the 17-50 lens for this one. If anyone has a nice macro lens I could have a go on, that'd be sweet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,407 ✭✭✭Promac

I'll try to make it too - probably won't make it for kick-off but I'm sure it won't be hard to spot 30-odd tripods being hoisted round grafton street!

Do we have a pub sourced yet?

  • Registered Users Posts: 97 ✭✭Cyrusmekon

    Im in....

    Bringing a friend as well.

Just after checking the weather for tomorrow evening.
Very Cloudy, 7°, 13km winds with a rain forecast later in the evening.
So we won't need these  but hopefully we won't need umbrellas either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,182 ✭✭✭alexlyons

Yup still in! Although if its lashing rain I can't see myself there tbh....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,512 ✭✭✭baby and crumble

yeah deffo still in +1, but yeah if it's raining I won't be along. Can't afford to get anything wet!

Going to have to pull out of this one Will. Sorry but gotta get home early tomorrow night :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,079 ✭✭✭xia

    Weather depending I'm probably in...:p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,756 ✭✭✭Thecageyone

A bit of rain won't kill. Might be dodgy for those of us with non-weather sealed kits though. bring a plastic bag.

Plenty of pub shots otherwise yeah?

I'm going to try get along to this...

I damaged my tripod, so if anyone has a spare one, I would appreciate it :)

A bit late notice but if any spare tripods , i wont say no to a loan.
Otherwise i will try get away with a mini tripod/handheld.

    See you all laters :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,756 ✭✭✭Thecageyone

I had a cheap spare one, but it's gone too weak to hold anything more than a compact, I wouldn't chance it. I do have a spare plate, though, that's not really much use to anyone I suppose?

Must check return bus times ...

From the ever reliable Met Eireann:

    Tonight

Cold early tonight with a slight frost in parts of the midlands and north. But milder later, as cloudy, misty, drizzly weather develops countrywide, with some heavy rain in places later in the night. Temperatures down to between 2 and 5 C., soon after dark , but 4 to 8 C., by dawn.

When exactly is later in the night? All we need is a couple of dry hours.

  • Registered Users Posts: 820 ✭✭✭jaansu

    Might be a tad late.

Daughter's been sick so I've been stuck in the house all week so I can't wait to get out of this house.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,565 ✭✭✭✭Tallon

I have one thats missing a plate... If it fits, I can fix you up for it :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,756 ✭✭✭Thecageyone

My fragile D90 might mind though :D It's nights like these I miss the D200, that thing could be dropped in a pool and survive*.

*Not actually true D200 owners, try it at your own risk!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,250 ✭✭✭pixbyjohn

I will be there, have tripods for : lao lao, Tylerdurden94 and frag420.
All I ask is that you carry them back to College of Surgeons carpark before you all start drinking the lemonade.

    Ditto what Tallon said

Agreed, but we'd prefer that it rained before the walk not during it ;)

    Time: 7pm
    Date: Thursday 10th Feb
Start: Grafton St. Entrance of St. Stephens Green.

from the OP. The meeting point of my first ever boards photowalk... ah, memories. (I'd had the camera a week and thought I'd be fine without a tripod. Luckily pixbyjohn saved the day! :P)

  • Registered Users Posts: 612 ✭✭✭okmqaz42

    I am bringing a nikon 35mm 1.8 (dx) and a 50mm 1.8 for @alexlyons to try.

I also have a sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 APO DG Macro(also nikon fit) if anyone wanted to try this lens let me know and I will bring it along, I wont bring it unless someone actually wants to try it as it is more gear than I will possibly need for the evening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,755 ✭✭✭tylerdurden94

Bollox was just browsing the Bargain Alerts section and just remembered about this, I wont be able to make it so the tripod that was earmarked for me can go to somebody else if they need it.

Good luck with the walk tonight folks :)
