Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A massive thank you to okmqaz42 for lending me his 50mm and 35mm lenses for the walk. 50mm is ruled out and now I just need to save for the 35!!

What I like about this thread is that people post their pictures here.
While I like the idea of http://photowalk.ie a lot I find that it's missing any photo-sharing.

Also I thought that everyone who was on a walk would post a link to their pictures (Flickr, Pix, website etc) and that people would look and comment on each others photos. But I found that this didn't happen much as I thought.

    cheers,
    pa.

It was nice to meet a few people yesterday evening; unfortunately a long day in work meant I was tired and lacking creativity (and patience!) but I picked up a few good tips and it was great experience for a beginner like me! I bailed at the bottom of Grafton st. and headed towards Tara St. station - I got a couple of pics on the way there though so the second half was my own personal photowalk!

You will notice that most ('cept Alex Lyons) photos link to peoples flickr and pix.ie. People choose what they think is their best and post them here.

As for comments - that's a bit of hit and miss - if you look at the previous walk you will see that there was comment on some photos. This walk is not long over and people who were on it might not get online until this evening... so await comment.

TheCageyOne and (sorry I can't remember your name off hand, very sorry)! Where did ye go? Seen as ye have a photo of the statues infront of Trinity I know ye went the wrong way and so weren't nearby when we decided on The Mercantile.

People went home half way through, as I found out from others, and so the assumption is that both of ye, like Aidan18 and his friend, had decided to call it a night.

I did my best to make sure the people at the end of the walk weren't left behind but this happens - especially if you went ahead and down some alley!

    Anyway on a lighter note:

Had a great walk and great discussions with people in the pub including:
okmqaz42 (hope you didn't get in too much trouble), Willywonka, Xia, FoamCutter & Humberklog. It is agreed we hate HDR - unless we like 'that one' :p

Catch you all on the next one!

Cheers all, we went pretty fast down Grafton St and headed home a bit early... My shots from last night are atrocious, I don't know what's going on but my autofocus seems to be off... I really hope it's the lens. It's definitely not me. No. Definitely... :p

might post up one of the least awful ones later when I get home.

I followed Aiden18, Citrusmekon, Janus and Leche solara and a few others, presuming they knew where to go :D - They were certain someone said the foggy dew? That's where we went. I had a funny feeling we were in the wrong bar alright. But none of us had your number [I did ask for it on here yesterday ;) ] - Not to worry, always next time :)

Half my shots are in the pub ... I arrived late and didn't really put my all into it. Will post a few up later.

Nice lens that 105mm, wouldn't mind it myself.

I wasn't brave enough to ask to try the big whopper! I already had his 85mm 1.4 on loan,. dropping that big one would mean starving the childer for about 6 months :D

    And cheers :)

Thanks to Will for organising another good night. You did a great job on the weather too, whoever you're talking has some good connections ;)

Good to meet and put faces on names/handles.

Big thanks to pixbyjohn for helping with white balance/camera settings and ever helpful advice.

Thanks to Will for organising the walk and to John for the loan of the tripod, both very much appreciated.

It was my first night time shoot and I struggled a bit. Below are a few I took (the best of a bad bunch :o )

This is a good one, most of us did close ups of him. But you have it nicely setup where the mannequins look to be listening. Slightest crop might be needed so there is only the 5 closest mannequins in it. (just my opinion)
