Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I say yes.

I don't know how much of it was his idea, and how much was the producers of the show, but I feel this is a really grotesque piece of television.

I don't deny that it is a genuinely tragic story, but I'm very sorry to say, most people have bad stuff in their lives, but not everyone tries to use it to gain peoples affection/sympathy/votes.

Exploitation? All these talent shows exploit the contestants and their lives so what's the difference with this? This is his life. I think it was touching and in no way was the contestant (Chris) trying to use it to gain affection/sympathy/votes as you suggest imo. He seems a genuine caring guy who wouldn't 'use' her for his own gain, if he was interested in that he would have left her.

In any event, the clip into his background would have been taken after his audition when he was already through.

If I'm honest I find your assessment of it as 'grotesque' grotesque.
