NCT Question

Hi guys. I just had my NCT done. I left it a bit late, it's an 06 car and this was it's first NCT. I passed but my cert is only valid till 24-1-2012, should I not have 2 years cover? I only noticed this when I got home and put the tag in. No one mentioned anything to me at the testing centre.

It corrulates with the date of first registeration of the car, so first nct starts in 2010 and ends in 2012
