Just about to move from Ranelagh to Stoneybatter and if I could bring one thing with me, it would be The Best of Italy. I'm looking for a similar grocer or deli that does great fruit and veg (and cheese!) in Stoneybatter, I know that there's a Tesco just up the road, but sometimes the food and selection can seem a little under-whelming.

I've heard of Fresh in Smithfield but it seems to be a bit pricey. Across the road I could walk out with enough veg and cheese to do me for a week for under a tenner.

There's a fab little shop in Stoneybatter called Lilliput Stores, it's a little bit out of the way (on Rosemount Terrace) but well worth taking the time to look for it. They do excellent artisan & regular products, from bread to olives & hummus, to wine & reasonably priced locally sourced fruit & veg, along with soup & sandwiches. They pack some amount into a small little shop. Have a look for it, you won't be disappointed!

That's great and it's just around the corner from me. Now all I have to do is find it!

Also there is a specialist Italian store Little Italy that seems to supply restaurants & the public just off Smithfield square on North King St. It is one of my favourite stores & the staff are great for advice etc. Prices good too.

Yea this place is definitely definitely open to the public... a housemate of mine came home with several bottles of limoncello from it one evening. Good stuff! Have yet to venture in myself though so can't comment on its fruit and veg range.

There are a few fruit and veg shops just around the corner from you on the luas line opposite the capel building. They range in price and quality. Thornes is quite cheap but the quality isn't great. You may pay a little bit extra in the fresh market 2 doors down but the quality is really good and they've some other really nice products. Worth a look if you're living in the area.
