Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pic in a couple of todays papers from yesterdays graduation ceremony at Templemore. Garda in photo is going up to receive her top recruit award. She is wearing one white glove on her left hand and all the boys in girls in blue behind her seem to have just one glove on too.

Is this a tradition, part of the ceremony or is there a Mickey Jackson thing going on in the Guards that we're not aware of?

    Is this your vehicle.....wooohooo, shamona!

AFAIK they use the gloved hand to receive the parchment, the ungloved hand to shake hands with the presenter.

Perhaps its something to do with a flag? Don't ya have to wear gloves to carry a flag or something?

As said above. It's good practice and manners to remove your glove before shaking hands

It's so you don't leave DNA or prints on bribe money or planted evidence or course.

Damn, knew there was a logical explanation. My visions of all recruits dancing to Billie Jean (like the orange suited prisoners) have gone out the window.

Thanks for the many many other wonderful explanations.
