Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Possibly the wrong forum for this, but somehow i seem to have lost my birth cert. Where can I get a replacement?

Yes, at the birth's, deaths and marriages office. Can't think of it's proper title.

My mate black Jim will sell you one.

Go to your local McDonalds and look for a white guy

Nah you're in the right forum.

You're going to have to find a doctor, have him call around to your ma's, crawl back up there and have the doctor witness your rebirth.

    Best of luck.

You can only get a birth cert when you are born. You will need to find an empty vagina, climb into it and then back out again before you can get a new birth cert.

    Edit: Blast!

On a more serious note, tough OP. You have to be born again. Literally. Id get some lube for your mammy.

...and you paid 3 times the going rate for it....sucker :)

It's a legitimate site/service, but all they do is apply for the cert on your behalf, with a 200% markup. It's no more effort to apply directly yourself.

    www.birthsdeathsmarriages.ie quoted me €37 for a replacement,
http://www.groireland.ie/apply_for_a_cert.htm, only a tenner. I'll go with that one, cheers to all the helpful replies!

I had to get a copy of my mums long form birth cert on Monday, cost me €10 - went to the registars office (birth, death & marriage) took no more than 2-3 mins :)

What's a "long" birth cert actually?

    Longer than a short one..*lame*

It just has more details on it, it's the original birth cert you would of been issued. It's got your parents info, the doctors info on it and their signature.
