Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For an assignment I have to set up a computer lab. So could anyone give some help. The server will have to be good enough to run 30 computers and another 20 in the building. A list of requirements would be great. :)

Basic setup.. You should draw a network map in Visio or something similar to help you keep track..

    - client workstations
    - server
    - network points run for all the places where you need network connectivity.. like this one.. these will be run by the electrician..
    Socket_07.jpg

    - comms room / comms cabinet ... i.e. a central point to put all the shared equipment.. shared equipment will be switch, internet router, printer.

    - Cat 5/6 fly leads (to connect clients to points) and patch leads (to connect from patch panel to switch)

For the twenty PCs in the other building, you will need to have some sort of bridge, whether a wireless connection or a cable run under the ground..

    that's a quick list.

Like I said above Roger, you would be better getting it down on some sort of blueprint.. Are you actually gonna put this network together, or is it just a hypothetical system that you have to put together for a project?
