Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I just bought a second hand sky box and want to replace it with my standard box. I know it needs a second cable and I want to do it myself. I went in to maplins and they have a 25M cable for 30 euro. Also Wicks have a 100M cable for 35 euro. Has anyone had any experience of using either of these cables.
Also is it easy to install.

Depends on what type of cable it is , 30 euro sounds expensive even for top quality cable.

Go to an electrical wholesalers you'll get better value there..... I presume it's a SKY + box?

Do you mean a second hand Sky plus box as you are installing a second cable. you'll need a current sky subscription to use it. I ordered 20m cable off ebay from an Irish seller for 11 euro, came with the connectors , hooked it up Saturday to the old sky box absolutely perfect.

Yes i have a contract with sky and i want to connect to a sky plus box.
How are the connectors connected. Is there a special tool used?

When you go to the wholesalers to get the cable you will need to get "F" connectors, these are the connectors for the LNB unit on the dish and for the connections to the sky box. If the LNB on the dish has more than one connection you'll be fine if not you'll have to change it.......

Must disagree, i've seen some appalling product masquerading as "satellite" cable in wholesalers.

He means your average Electrical Wholesale. The local one here doesn't have any decent coax.

    Not Specialist Wholesalers.
