Huawei E180(Meteor). A SIM card question

I have a Meteor Dongle. I am in the process of unlocking it, so it will take any SIM. I am moving abroad. Can I just insert any normal Sim card that I buy in a phone shop, or is it a more specific type of card I need to get. Any help gratefully appreciated
