Camping in Lugnaquilla?

Hi, has anyone any knowledge of the Lugnaquilla area of the wicklow mountains. Panning to go camping solo and just looking for routes and nice spots.

Someone else told me bout a lake north-west of glendalough. Lough Ouler.. (Its heart shaped!) Anyone know anything bout this place?

The heart-shaped lake is approached easiest from the top of the Wicklow Gap, then climb up and over Tonelagee. Lovely spot down there - pretty cold!

If you want to go down to the lake there is a trail that splits off down to the NE/E, which can be seen in the left of this alternative route, from Glenmacnass: http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=668550
(& if you go the Glenmacnass route in reverse you reach the lake without having to go up Tonelegee)

Lough Ouler can also be approached from the other side, from Glenmacnass waterfall. Great views if it's fine.
