Hi, I am renting a 3 bed house on Rent Allowance

I live with my partner, and our son, the rent on the property is 530pm

    I receive 96.00e per week

I have to pay 36.50 towards rent per week, I was just wondering if this is what I should be paying or did the CWO calculate it wrong?

    thank you

ps: I am in westmeath and the rent ceiling for couple and one child is; 550euro

I thought RA was paid per month, in arrears?

    why are you getting €96/week?

Was this calculated back when your partner had earnings of her own?

She was a student so no income, she was doing a research position which she got a payment every month, when that stopped we applied for RA as we could not afford the rent, we went to our local CWO who took our form and we got payment the following thursday @96.00e per week and every week since, the rent is 530e per month

    It is correct.
    Your rent is €530pm, 530*12/52= €122.31pw
You have to contribute minimum €26pw yourself
    €122.31-€26 = rent supplement of €96.31

I don't understand how you are contributing 36.50 towards rent per week, it should be €26.31?

Im not sure, we get the 96 euro per week and we have to make up the balance each month!

Maybe I will contact the CWO to ask if the amount is correct for me to be paying,

    Thank you

    Hmmm.
Did I just point out that it is correct amount?

You are not taking into account that there are less weeks in some months than in others. You need to calculate the payments over the calendar year. Let us know the response you get back.
