    Then ideally a tag match between Sting/ Booker/ Nash v Masters/ Trent/ Ryder.

Thats the most obvious choice and I don't see any reason for them not to go with it. :)

Its a shame they it would cost a bomb to get Goldberg back, I reckon he would still outdraw the other three in this moment of time.

None of the four of them is a draw really on 2011.

After watching Raw i'm worried that they might do Sheamus vs Lawler.I genuinely think Triple H is in no rush to get back in the ring.Power Slam wrote a article about it,while it was a bit optimistic I think a change in direction is needed in wwe creatively.Vince has been very erratic with Pushes for a while.

All of them could draw if booked right. Without a big taker match (which two of those could provide) i've no idea how Cena vs weak transitional heel champ will do even last year's numbers.

Following Randy Orton's punt kick to Husky Harris on RAW, WWE has announced that the Nexus member is out of action indefinitely. WWE is hyping a response from CM Punk for the kick on next Monday's RAW.
There has been speculation that Husky, despite his talent, isn't going over so well with WWE officials because of his size and look. Some are wondering where Husky will fit into things if a 3-on-3 match with Nexus vs. The Corre takes place at WrestleMania.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,414 ✭✭✭✭Penn

Husky's size and look are one of the best things about him. Makes him stand out and he has the talent to carry it.

As for Miz and Del Rio, I expect one of those matches to be made a Triple Threat Match. Probably due to some non-sensical finish in one of the Elimination Chamber matches

Could we be actually seeing HHH vs. Wade Barrett at Wrestlemania???
The last Raw before the big PPV has an 8-Man Tag Match scheduled (apparently). It is to be Cena, Orton, Edge & HHH Vs. Miz, CM Punk, Del Rio & Wade Barret.

    Source: http://www.prowrestling.com/article/news/17613

Lookig at that line up, each member of the team is facing there WM opponent (Cena/Miz, Punk/Orton, Edge/Del Rio), so by that process it looks like HHH vs Barrett!

Could this work? Like GTR63 said, it could possibly be Sheamus vs. Lawler, which would open up HHH to face Barett. If this is the case, where does it leave Taker? He will probably want to get revenge on Kane, so we could get Kane vs. Taker (again) at Wrestlemania!

Is there any need for the EC PPV it seems the world title matches are set now anyways

Miz V Cena and Edge V Del Rio

If Barrett V HHH is happening at WM surely HHH would want to return soon enough to set up a feud and Barrett is on SD now

Michael Cole has been learning to take bumps at WWE developmental. It’s also no secret he has been special refereeing RAW dark matches. This has all been done to try and prepare Cole for WrestleMania 27. WWE officials have had plans for Cole and Lawler to do something at the big show for months.
In the past few weeks, some ideas tossed around for Lawler and Cole at WrestleMania have the two facing off in a singles match or Lawler vs. Alex Riley with Cole as referee and some kind of stipulation added to it.

As the winner of Nxt Season 4 gets tag title shot with his pro could this be at a ppv maybe WM or EC or will it be on Raw or SD?

Former Price is Right host Bob Barker will be at WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta, according to SportsTalkNetwork.com. Barker is said to be a long time wrestling fan and won the Slammy Award in December for Best RAW Host.

He has, remember the 'Price is Raw' episode with some sort of price is right game with Jericho, Irwin R Schyster, and I think Santino and Jillian when they were dating.

I hope Barker isn't the host, I think it should be someone who hasn't been on WWE TV before. During the Attitude Era, ever year there would be rumours about Britney Spears or Eminem being at a Wrestlemania, both are still pretty big names in pop culture! Just saying........... :D

LOL at Vince saying that Wrestlemania is bigger than the World Cup though.

OK best nip this in the bud right now, I know he was on RAW last year! I meant if he's a life-long WWF fan -he's 87- how come WWE only found a part for him in 2010? He's been doing the Price is Right since 1972! Surely they could've used him during the lean years.

Rumor mill has been rampent this morning saying that the WM Guest host is in fact Sting, contrary to reports otherwise.
Supposedly he is very excited about the role.

Wasn't he a host at Raw this year (:p) an interviewer at Wrestlemania/Saturday Nights Main Event in the 80s? He did that screwy face when someone was choking him?

Bob Uecker did indeed pull that face when he was being choked. He was inducted in the Hall of Fame not too long ago.

    From LordsofPain.net:

    - To update, there has been no conversation between Steve "Sting" Borden and World Wrestling Entertainment as of last week, but there has however been interest from both sides.

The Undertaker vs. Sting match at this point will not be happening and Undertaker vs. Wade Barrett has been dropped as the originally proposed WrestleMania 27 main event. The company has come up with a new direction for the Undertaker which they hope will steal the show - it is also slated to involve Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels in a non-wrestling capacity. The new direction doesn't involve Brock Lesnar at this point.

So, HBK as Special Guest Referee?? HHH to face Taker maybe???
The build up to Taker's Wrestlemania match is taking all kinds of twists and turns before his opponent is even announced!

Exactly what the WWE wants to happen! they are executing this perfectly! I'd say they are leaking half the rumours just to get the sheets going mad!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,289 ✭✭✭parker kent

I think HHH/Taker is a possibility and I'd like to see it. It would link in well with the last two Manias. Nice if it ended with HBK superkicking HHH because if he can't break the streak, then nobody can :pac:

I'd love to see Taker/Punk either.

Taker V HHH would have me buying mania. Without a doubt.

I reckon i'll be buying it regardless, Wrestlemania is the only ppv iv'er ever actually ordered on box-office (i think maybe one Rumble as well).

Concering Taker's opponent, I guess we will have a clearer picture come 21-2-2011 :D
And if Shawn Michaels is announced as the WM host next week, then it would point to him being involved in that match too

i can see taker vs the corre maybe with a new member coming down after every 5 minutes or something on the lines of that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,820 ✭✭✭grames_bond

Taker wins the title (somehow) soon. whoever wins MITB, if its on this year, should come down to cash in straight after the taker match. Some cocky heel stating he is going to make history cashing in at mania......winning the title and breaking the streak in the process.

The heel then proceeds to lose, giving taker 20-0 and being able to retire with all the explosions!!

I'd rather face Taker go out on twenty wins over face John Cena. Cena slapping on the STF(U) would scare a lot of people.

I've kinda got attached to Barrett facing Taker at WM27 now. Make it non-DQ and kind of like Big Show/Mayweather Jr. (which was way better than it was on paper) only with wrestling where every so often Slater and Gabriel try to beat-down Taker - say get him to his knees - only to be thrown off anime style would be pretty entertaining in my mind.

Take it for what its worth but the premium section of WrestlingNewsWorld.com are reporting that
    The Rock
will be revealed as Wrestlemania's guest host.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,600 ✭✭✭✭CMpunked

    If it is
    The Rock
    as host.
And then if dirtsheets are to be telling the truth and
    Triple H
is Takers opponent, this could be the best mania of the last 10 years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,871 ✭✭✭Pentecost

He did say recently his next involvement would be sooner than you think. Would be good to have him involved in some way.

Wouldn't go that far. Both of those happening would be a positive but looking at the rumoured card it could perhaps be the worst card since Wrestlemania 2000.

I thought last year was pretty crap, other than the HBK/Taker match. MITB was so-so and the rest did not get enough time (other than Vince/Bret which got waaaay too long!). This year looks potentially better (although I would be majorly surprised if there is better match than Taker/HBK) all round if they are given time.

    ^^^

If it is one of them, it will be Bob Barker.

If it is Bob Barker, I will regard that as the final gob of spit in my face that I am willing to take.
To think that they would get Barker in, over someone like the Rock is horrible. The fact that they would give it a week of hype is worse again.
Imagine, after a week of waiting and speculating, and Vince anounces Bob ****ing Barker.

What would that realistically do for buy rates. Someone who wasnt going to buy mania is hardly going to look at barker and say, jesus, bob barker on wrestlemania, better order it. However, put the Rock/HBK/Austin in there and that will have an effect.

I hope they have made the right decision on this, I really do.

if they are going to make mania guest host a thing does it not make sense that rock would do Mania 28 in Miami, it is his billed home town.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

Who cares about the guest host? He'll introduce himself (maybe announce a match) and 2-3 backstage skits.

Personally if it's Rock, either wrestle or do RAW. I don't want him overshadowing other stars without wrestling -at WrestleMania no less-...reminds me of 2003 RAW when Austin was Sheriff GM.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,235 ✭✭✭✭flahavaj

I kinda agree about getting Rock as Guest Host being a bit sh*tty. Its always a bit unsatisfying when fprmer wrestlers come back but don't get physically involved. Makes me think what might have been more than anything.

Bit of a desperation move methinks, Vince is banging on about pushing the young fellas but he still needs to bring in Rock in case the event flops. I'm very unexcited about Mania this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,888 ✭✭✭Charisteas

I would only want to see HHH v Taker at WM again if one of them (preferably Hunter) was a full fledged heel.

I suppose they could bring Taker back as a heel, it would be quite shocking and may up the buyrates but it seems doubtful at this time, and there's no way that Hunter is turning heel before this year's Mania because he's moonlighting as a Chaperone.

I know one of them doesn't need to be a heel for a feud to work. The Taker/Michaels feud worked because they were playing off the respect that the two had for each other, whilst acknowledging that Shawn was coming to the end of his career and wanted a shot at ending the streak before he hung up his boots.

With that being said though, I don't want to see WWE playing the respect card for the third year in a row (Unless we had a Taker/Michaels III). Otherwise it could turn into the same feud, different guy. It's The Undertaker at Wrestlemania afterall, so I would prefer to see him in a more traditional good guy versus bad guy angle this year.

The match is a real possibility though, there's no doubt about that. He's at 18-0, would be good to get to the nice round number 20-0, so if he's only got two opponents left, HHH and John Cena are the two to choose from.

Rock as guest host could and probably would work. He may bring in a few extra buys, but they shouldn't bill him as a top attraction unless he's going to wrestle. Otherwise it's just teasing!

WWE haven't yet really acknowledged that they are in Georgia, old WCW stomping ground, they could have at least gave Booker T a feud for a couple of months instead of instantly sticking him on commentary.

Hell, they could have even brought in old Ted Turner to wrestle Vince McMahon. Ok it would be a shockingly awful 5 minute match, but at least would get mainstream media attention.

Which sports figure do you think will be the Guest Host of WrestleMania XXVII? Aaron Rodgers Michael Jordan Shaquille O'Neal Clay Matthews Dan Marino
