AIB don't accept switcher business. I'm not sure about Bank of Ireland, but their subsidiary mortgage company ICS will only do switchers up to 50% Loan to Value (LTV).

Can I presume your OH is now permanent in the job? Virtually impossible to get a new mortgage if he's still on probation, unless your income qualifies for the mortgage on its own.

Remember that by switching to AIB or Bank of Ireland you will incur legal costs. At the moment KBC are offering a free switch up to 80% LTV. Although their rates aren't best in the market, it can work out well if you factor in the legal costs.
