Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

    I've taken photos with my camera a Canon 400D it's 10.1MP

I've taken pics at the highest the camera can go.

    There size is 3888px x 2592px it's just under 3MB in size

Will i be able to print this in A3 without losing quality?

    thanks.

Also if i can.. is there a place in the Square in tallaght that does it ... or anywhere in Tallaght ?

    cheers

That's just a little larger than A4 @ 300dpi, on A3 that will drop to 220ish. It will look fine IMHO, unless you look really closely.
I have printed 12.1 MP images on SRA3 (@225ish dpi) and they look fine.

(I think my calculations are correct...)

i have printed waaaaay bigger than A3 from a 10mp camera, yes it should look fine

but it does depend on lots of factors

for example how sharp the image is, the bigger you go the softer the image will get

I often find images look much better in print than on screen. I've printed up to 15" x 12" [from a 10mp camera] which is close to A3 and they looked pretty sharp and clean. I would have no problems going a lot larger with my sharpest shots.

There's RuaRed, where you can self-print. Don't think it'd be worth it for 4 images if that's all you ever plan to do though. I don't know of anywhere else in Tallaght where the standard would be good enough for college work. You could try Gunns or Camera Exchange in town? I've been happy with their work in the past.

photo place in the Square have a massive printer.. We went there and they did a great job. They had Matt and glossy.

She got A3 and A2 prints. They could go up to A0 :)

And it didn't cost to much

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,356 ✭✭✭NeVeR

    A1 €12.49
    A2 €6.99

glossy might be an extra €1

I didn't get A3 like my post said,, It was A1 and A2. A3 would be about 5.99 i'd say.
