Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

UPC Digital Box won't work with my Samsung TV sometimes

When I switch from playstation 3 to the UPC digital box the switch that occurs is that it goes from HDMI 4 to HDMI 2. Nothing will appear unless I go to the back of the box and disconnect then reconnect the HDMI cable at the back of the UPC digital box.

Anyone else have this problem or hear of a fix?

I have a similar problem with a UPC HD Mediabox (Cisco) connected to my Samsung LE-40 M87BD TV. If the UPC Box is on and I switch HDMI from(say) My PS3 or My Humax FoxSat HDR I get no picture. Taking the cable out and replacing it solves the problem but is a PITA. I found that if I switch off the UPC mediabox and switch it back on again everything is fine. Strange

Even stranger, I can then switch to other HDMI ports and back again and my UPC mediabox displays fine. It may be something to do with energy saving mode in the UPC box. On the other hand my TV is, like me, getting on a bit.

I searched here at boards.ie and other internet resources without finding anyone having same problem as me (and now you, OP) we should start a political party ;)

All you need to do is press the 'upc' button at the top of the remote

dragging up my old thread - but this is really annoying me and especially recently when I'm watching more TV with the Olympics.
Pressing the 'UPC' button on the remote doesn't help.

I also have problems when I pause a program. Its probably a separate issue - But sometimes if I pause it will resume at the instance the TV with the current channel was turned on. So I could be watching something for an hour then pause for 5 min and then it will resume 1 hour and 5 min ago.

Yeah, I wonder if this is due to some 'update' they've pushed out, as I've only started seeing this over the last couple of months.

As you say, when you pause and then click play, it doesn't always resume where you paused, but at the point you switched to that channel.
