So we've just bought a new house, contracts ready to be signed. It's a small terraced house approx 200 years old. It has one bathroom upstairs and an outside toilet housed in a concrete shed which has a dividing wall for storage of junk! It's a small shed with a felt roof. We want to replace the toilet as there's no room in the house for a second one to be put in.

As we will be having the back yard remodeled we were wondering whether we should replace the concrete building with like or go for a steel housing. It is feasible to put a toilet in one of these or are they only suitable for storage of garden equipment? Any one any other ideas? We're trying to keep costs down as there's a lot of work to be done to the house.

You need a wee bit of heat and comfort when on the throne. :D

Seriously though you need to steer away from any type of metal clad shed or the likes (unless its an insulated panel) and opt for a concrete block replacement if necessary and make sure its built with a cavity wall.
