Alternatively, he could buy Magic Weapon and Great Magic Weapon if he has the stats.

Or if he really wants to take the piss, dark moon blade, with the zweihander it'd just be evil.

Well lads I am back to dark souls. Killed hydra easily. Though I have no idea what do I need here? Should there be some npc I need to save? You told me to kill hydra before going deeper to anal lordo part.

Anal Lordo, what's that? A new Dark Souls-themed porn movie?:pac:

aye! i have to say it is a pure pain in anal thats for sure!

so i killed hydra very easiliy and went for archives. Now i just hate this area.. i though i hated blightown... Now i hate it not because its hard, but because its confusing as ****.

i did got killed by that descaled asshole and did all the stupid jelly fish bit. so i managed to get back to it and got killed again... looks like i cant get in to close range at him and if i shoot bolts he get instant health back... I am at that balcony bonfire. i have a feeling there should be some other way to get to that crystal ballbag?

p.s. what was the point of killing hydra and talking to that npc?

If you are having trouble with Seath i strongly recommend that you get to Sen's Fortress and have a look out for the Slumbering Dragoncrest ring and the Hush spell. Seath is blind so if you use both Hush and the Slumbering ring together he also won't be able to hear you and it makes the fight much easier.

When you kill the Hydra get to the section of the lake to your left and walk along the side of the lake until you come to a pool with a gold crystal golem. Kill the Golem and you save Dusk of Oolacile. You can buy spells from Dusk. If you have the Artorias expansion save Dusk. Then get to the Duke's archives and kill the Crystal golem just before the entrance to the archives and grab the broken pendant. Return to the section of the Darkroot basin where you killed the crystal golem to save Dusk to see what happens.

By far the best buff in the game, basically 2 x talismans mag adjust. My bss15 went from around 400 damage to 720 with 40 faith and dark moon talisman. Only thing is 1 cast and can only use when in that covenant.

Just looked it up. Sounds potent alright.

I only have Gwyn to beat on NG+ but before I take him on I want to create some fire weapons and level up a bit more before going on to NG++. I was thinking of helping my fellow Dark Souls players by offering my services as a hired mercenary. I'll leave summon signs at the bonfires just before tricky boss battles such as S and O, Manus, Kalameet, Seath and Artorias. I've had some success so far in helping guys take out S and O.

My current after crazy amounts of soul farming is level 187. What level would other players online have to be before they can summon my character and vice-versa?

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,561 ✭✭✭✭2smiggy

i am about level 200 , so would be within your range , 10 % plus or minus so you should be within 169 - 205 range. i have got summoned outside this 10% range, but in general i think this is range

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,112 ✭✭✭Danonino.

Is it not Your level +10 both ways and then 10% or am I remembering it wrong..

Out of curiosity are you creating fire weapons for the novelty or do you plan on using them? I only ask because at SL187 they should be redundant to you due to the scaling of your stats!

i think it is level +-10 soul levels until the +-10% is the greater range.

on the PS3 unfortunately ! on ng+++ i think with that, but just playing on first playthrough with a magic character at the moment. might start a faith build too as well

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,112 ✭✭✭Danonino.

Every build I made just never feels right since my first playthrough was a cleric faith/strenght build with the mace. I really love the mace and got so used to its hit range and stuff that everything else feels weird. I'm going to try build a PVP version of my first build and see how I do. Aiming for around soul lv 100 with the first attempt with full cleric armour, mace +15 strenght at 50 with sunlight blade/darkmoon blade buff. Why strenght at 50?? get the most from the mace and so I can switch out to the GRANT one handed and crush those fools :pac:

Thinking vow of silence/karmic justice depending on the opponant too. But I'm guessing vow would stop the R2 special ability on the Grant?

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,561 ✭✭✭✭2smiggy

i'm not sure if the vow of silence will stop the grant R2 or wrath of the gods. using these 2 things would be fairly annoying against other players though. i just dont know if i want to put 50 strength just to use the grant though

I really wouldn't advise going to 50 STR it's a waste of 10 points, especially on a SL100 build you would really gimp yourself! Even for a 125 build I would stop at 40 and 2 hand the grant. If you are planning on using DMB and SMB you need at the least 30 FAI also and that doesn't leave much room for decent END or VIT which is essential in PvP!

Vow is good if you aren't going to use any casting yourself but GMB does just as good a job and allows you to cast! I prefer GMB also for the simple reason, if you cast Vow the majority of players will either switch to melee or run away. With GMB they usually still try and cast and you can punish them big time by absorbing the damage and getting in their face to land some big hits!

Edit: If you don't really care about PvP etiquette you could use Tranquil walk! With the grant and your own WotG it's literally a 100% win ratio if you can get TwoP off! But you will be hated for it!! :P

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,112 ✭✭✭Danonino.

Yeah I usually have GMB on and it helps a lot but its very obvious what you are doing, I always was curious as to how people would react to vow, I mean most players don't realise what you are casting half the time anyway so I might get a free hit in. Any time I got invaded on my first playthrough i had a mix of Twop and Gravelord swords dance/emit force :D back when Twop lasted 30 seconds ha ha.
On the 50 strenght, I guess I thought the extra damage from 50 strenght would be a good bet but looking on the character planner the difference is nowhere near enough to consider it over extra VIT. I might actually be able to increase my end enough to carry the mace on me too. Instead of having to pause and select on the fly, could make things a lot easier :D

i'll get experimenting when i get back before all the ho ho ho festivitys

you see, i dont have problem with seath yet as after small googling turns out you have to die in that chamber... and i went in there again and died again... there is other place where i will have to fight him. thing is with that place being real donkies tits to navigate...

it is ! i still get confused ever time i go through there.

easiest go left, turn the stair, go back to other side , jumb down to the stairs, turn these.

it might sound basic but i think this will get you close to correct. it is a balls of a place. best not lighting the bonfire either on the balcony if you have not solved the puzzle, as they only all respawn, and i think they are particularly annoying enemies here !

    i agree
the enemies on seths place are maddddd annoying
cant count how many times i lost it over them haha
their not difficult but when theirs loads of them , along with the mage guy shooting **** at you and archers hitting you its very difficult to manuver when your in a tight stair case ha

Man PC coop is dead at low level, no ones around anor Londo at sl12, even blight town was dead at that level. Think I might go dark wraith for once and troll.

Go back to PS3 , still plenty of life ! I'm just waiting to fight atorias or manus who ever I get summoned to first. If no action before the Khan fight I'm starting new faith character :)

So with some help from a really buffed chap with Quelaag's Furysword I managed to down S&O. Now im doing the painted world and once im finished that im not really sure where to go, should i go for darkroot and clear that out? Or mess around in ash lake and great hollow and kill the Hydra?

  • Registered Users Posts: 22,929 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

i **** you not i was dreaming last night that i was in darksouls world as some mage int based character. i dont even have a single spell on my character in dark souls game.. its full asshole plate mode.

I only plan on using them for creatures weak to fire just to see if they really do make a difference, especially when summoned for S&O. It would be a shame to waste the ember:)

The Duke's archives is a pain, especially with the sneaky archers and the Channelers. If you thought that was bad wait till you go to the Crystal Cave later:eek:

I'd probably do Darkroot first and then make my way to New Londo ruins. I wouldn't go near the Great Hollow until you find the Cursebite ring in New Londo ruins first.

I often have dreams about it myself, one recurring dream I have is of my character plodding around Dark Anor Londo searching for Dark Sun Gwyndolin. Weird I know:confused:

I had a rather embarrasing night on Dark Souls on friday, mainly because I drank 2 glasses of wine and 4 bottles of Paulaner before I started playing. After winning a PvP match on the ledge in Anor Londo as a Darkmoon Blade I performed a "Well, what is it?" gesture on the ledge and accidentaly walked off, missing out on the Souvenir of Reprisal as a result. On another occasion I tanked another guy to within one twenthieth of his energy before my stamina bar let me down. This happened three times and I stupidly let him heal each time before he eventually finished me off with a soul arrow. The moral of the story is "Never Drink and Play":(

Well in fairness I DID beat Artorias with the help of a Sorceror build guy I summoned, that was at 2.30am in the morning after 8 pints of Guinness:)

the hydra is probably the easyiest boss in the game :L
once you get to the edge of the lake before the drop
she keeps dropping her heads down into the same position
i think that monster was badly designed that way
