Tbf, as good as it is, it also contains the worst part of any game ever. Actually I will go one further and say that it contains the single worst thing in any entertainment medium ever.

One man's poison is another man's greatest boss fight of all time.

Yes, that is probably the most unnecessarily annoying part of any game I have ever played. WHO thought any of that was a good idea?

Presume your talking about the archers? I heard about them before I ever started the game, stuff of legend :) Another gank enemy placement was the snake mage at the side of the last pendulum section near the top of Sens fortress. Made it all the way up on first go and bastard got me.

First playthrough i sailed through that, even with my terrible build (maybe levelling resistance helped me :D). Every subsequent playthrough i had at least a couple of deaths.

Is the arrow run not a sinch if you are at very low weight?

I had no idea going in, it took me about 15 tries and I still couldn't get it. I uninstalled the game in a fit of rage. Came back to it a week later and did it on the second try. If I hadn't have been bored that day I NEVER would have played that game again.

My first playthrough i tried a mage. I made it to the catacombs and restarted. Surprisingly i didn't rage quit. I realised my build was terrible.

I am no expert on the game, what was wrong with your build that forced you to restart?

Managed to get past the archers after about 5 or 6 attempts. Ended up sprinting up and back down again and the chap on the right suddenly lost the will to wreck heads any longer and took a dive off the ledge. Calling it a night after that. Should be close to the boss now I think.

I've heard next boss is no joke. Might have to use my first summon for a boss. The Solaire dude is just itching to a scrap here by the bonfire

I beat the next boss on my first try, which almost never happens to me in these games as I am not particularly great at them, I summoned that NPC to help though. The fight was epic and it ended in drama, we killed each other with our last attacks. I wake up at the bonfire having no idea if I had succeeded or not, got back to the boss room and it was empty. I was well chuffed.

I had leveled evenly instead of specializing. I probably could have went off and grinded, but i had wasted a lot of upgrade materials by that stage.
I should say it was the tomb of giants i gave up in, not the catacombs.

Don't see why you'd need to start over. The game scales with your level. Even if you don't specialise you should be fine to beat the game with no issues. Only issue would be if you wanted to play high level PVP.

I thought that was funniest part of the game. It's hilarious. You're making me want to play dark souls again :D

For a game with such a reputation for difficulty its refreshing how many enemies are fond of jumping off cliffs to their death :) I've had it happen a few times in Anor Londo alone. The bat creature things fall off the edge if you look sideways at them. I got to the second Gargoyle in the area and somehow managed to lose track of him cos he was flying around the place. Found him, started fighting him, hit him twice and he fell off a ledge and somehow forgot how to fly :D

Sure it has a boss the size of a room that can randomly just kill itself

Beat Ornstein & Smough, epic fight. Gave them a good few lashes solo and could kill Smough no problem but couldn't finish it. Had Ornstein down to within a few hits a couple of times but he kept getting me. Ended up summoning Solaire and beat them second go with him.

Running with 38 dex at the moment and +10 Uchigatana. Need to get the next ember now which I think improves dex scaling and should be doing very decent damage then

Congrats. It's all down hill from here in terms of difficulty.... except the DLC. But you should be able to handle anything the game throws at you.

Thanks, thats good to know. I'm guessing I'm a decent ways into the game now. Sounds like 4 or 5 more bosses to go but I'm sure that depends on who I stumble into on the way to them.

DLC is definitely worth doing. Tackle it just before the final boss. If you kill the final boss you can't play it again until the end of New Game plus. From DLC is some of the best DLC ever.

Might have to tackle that so. I created a backup save for Bloodborne before finishing it so I could access the DLC on NG, dont think there's a way to do that on Switch though.

I'd really recommend tackling it during this play through. It's not that long and all three new boss fights are incredible (and one optional one which is a bit too much but optional).

Do the Painted World shortly. It's not overly difficult.

I think I had killed O&S and then did Nito and Four King's before going there.

Easily my one of favourite areas of the games.

That fight is probably the only fight in the game I have a hard time beating without the help of Knight Solaire or summons. What annoys me are the two giant guards blocking the way into the boss room. They can really f*ck things up for me when trying to get past them and preventing them from killing Solaire before the boss fight.

And if it's not the giant guards it's the players who invade you while you're making your way to the boss fight.

I was just legging past the knights when I wasn't using Solaire but had to fight them when I ended up using him cos I wanted him at full health for the main fight. They were a pain in the hole then cos I'd inevitably use up a few estus I needed for the boss fight.

Once I decided I was going to use Solaire I just went offline before becoming human cos I knew it was a popular area for wreck head invaders.
