It's a real shame, Waterstones to close. I always loved getting my books in there! Hopefully the receivers can find a way to save it. Another Irish institution falls!!! http://www.rte.ie/ten/2011/0201/waterstones.html

Actually, here's a good article in The Irish Times about what I mean when I say such retailers going out of business may not be good for consumers.

Good article - was unaware of "upward rent agreements" - seems like this played a major part in their demise. This is why its so hard to have any sympathy for any landlord, though of course like any sector of life there are actually good ones in there somewhere too.
