Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Folks,
just a quick one on the test (doing it next week) and my observations aren't great. When asked to turn ahead - is it mirror, signal, lifesaver or mirror, lifesaver, signal, lifesaver (when just about to turn).
    cheers,
    Reece

    I was taught OSM-

O- Observation Check the position of following traffic using your mirrors or by looking over your shoulder when it's safe to do so.

S -Signal If necessary, signal your intention to change course or speed. Signal clearly and in good time.

    M -Manoeuvre
Carry out the manoeuvre - i.e. the change in speed and/or direction - if it's safe to do so.

Since lifesaver is the last thing you do before you manoeuvre, I'd agree with the above post.

    turning left
in advance of the turn, as kami says, mirror signal lifesaver maneouver, into the left hand side of the lane (bout 2 feet off the kerb). This stops things running up your inside. Maintain this position up to the turn, and take it. Only a single lifesaver needed imo

    turning right
same as before - mirror signal maneouver to the RHS of the lane, well before the turn (varies, but say 20ft). Then just before you're to take the turn, another lifesaver (some gob****e could be overtaking).

So 2 for right hand turns, 1 for lefts

This is all how I've been taught, so YMMV

(I also do a quick left check when starting off from a stop in traffic - checking for peds and cyclists. And a right check when starting from a stopped position out of the flow of traffic)
