It's like 1997 all over. Three centre-backs and the return of the dreaded wing-backs.

    Carew plays for Stoke now?

Jesus, you really can't even blink during January now.

Can't say it too loud in these parts but Gerrard is having a very good game so far

Aurelio, as he always is when played in cm, is anonymous

    Why not?

In fairness, Gerrard, Lucas and Kuyt playing very well.

Gerrard with a burst of old into the box. Encouraging.

    **edit

When he says Stoke's 'keepers name, I keep thinking he's saying "Beg ya bitch"

    Meireles is class

It's a bit hectic, but very attacking. Players popping up everywhere.

Still, easy to do that against Stoke.

Agger looks such a better player when he's not being forced to play on his own six-yard box.

This is like total football, in terms of movement if not in quality. Gerrard, Mereiles, Agger and Soto are popping up everywhere.

Torres would have been well suited to a game like this. Acres of space.

Carroll would do better imo. We just need a big target man in the box.

    G'wan Walters :P

stoke have so many men behind the ball...
    lucas doing pretty good...
need a goal to make stoke take more risks...

    Encouraging start, Gerrard in particular.

Seems to be playing Gerrard and Meireiles as AM's with Lucas and Aurelio as cover for the back 3, makes sense against Stoke.

    Nice pass Gerrard.

Well there is two posters who said it.

Maybe people are OTT when he's playing badly?

Lovely crosses. If it was Carroll on the end of them...

Best half of football that Kuyt has played in years.

Lads, I think we've just found some width for Carroll.

Kelly? Sure he gets forward every game and delivers quality ball.

Great stuff by Gerrard, Mereiles and Kuyt in the box. Blood in the air now.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 7,941 Mod ✭✭✭✭Yakult

Kuyt is playing very well today. Impressive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,385 ✭✭✭✭D'Agger

Kuyt should've tried to take that on with his left ffs - you're not going to get enough space that close to goal to let it bounce twice

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,716 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

Kuyt is a new man out there tonight, so much more at home up top.

And they wonder why the refs get no respect. Different rules for different teams.

Should have been a Red card for that

Huth should have walked there. Exact same challenge Gerrard made in the Cup against United.

My stream went down for it - I'm assuming he went in off his feet??

3-1-3-3 or whatever this system happens to be is working quite well, it has to be said.

Suarez needs to make an appearance here.

Another great play from Liverpool, this formation is really working against Stoke.

In with both feet, square on, studs showing

Best footy I've seen us play in 2 years.

Kuyt is one of the most natural centre forwards you're likely to see. Has always done the business when up top for us.

First foot got the ball, second foot followed through and got the player.

Good first half, unlucky not to have scored. Great team effort all round.

Sickened Im going to miss the second half :(

Referees can babble on about this 'respect' ****e but until their can make consistant and fair decisions then they'll always be open to criticism. Shocking decision to let Huth away with it there.
