3-1-3-3 or whatever this system happens to be is working quite well, it has to be said.

Suarez needs to make an appearance here.

Who would you take off for him though?

Personally I'd say Aurelio with Meireles pulling back and Suarez going behind Dirk

Good end to the half has to be said

Last 15 mins have been great with full backs bombing forward and some good link up play between midfield and attack... wel win this

Torres has clearly been holding Kuyt back for the last three years.

Best footy I've seen us play in 2 years.

Kuyt is one of the most natural centre forwards you're likely to see. Has always done the business when up top for us.

Apart from scoring many goals , which is important if your a center forward !

Just in from work, anyone care to give a brief summary of the half? Seems to be mainly positive comments despite the 0-0 scoreline?

I'm hoping this isn't a game where their keeper gets man of the match, very happy with how we've performed so far but a little worried with the saves he's pulled off so far

Kinda hard to do when he rarely get's played up front alone.

Johnson trying to do a Fabregas there...no matter who the player or which team it is i hate that.

Last 15 mins of the half, we looked very lively and the passing game should have yielded a goal or two. Kuyt must have got his hole before kick off. Some of those crosses would have been Carroll's idea of a footballing wet dream!!

Its hard to be a centre forward playing right midfield though!

He's played up front a few times for us, and has always done well. Always the guy to rely on getting a goal in the big games.

Kenny might have just remembered that he's actually a CF, not a RM.

The team are passing and moving very well - all across the ptich.

I think its all a bit too much for Aurelio though, game is passing him by. Suarez for him, at half time I hope. Actually no, 2 minutes into the second half so he gets the roar from the crowd.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,349 ✭✭✭Zak Flaps

OK, i paid to watch a stream on liveonlinefooty.com and it went down 20 mins ago and hasn't come back since...:mad::mad:

(oh they'll be hearing from me!!!)

anyway, i can't find any stream online now that's working (tried all the ones already mentioned here)....can anyone point me in the right direction...??

    ----Agger--Socky--Skrtel
    Kelly--Aurelio----Lucas
    Johnson
    ----Gerrard
    Meireles
    Kuyt

Kuyt getting way too much praise!!!

One terrible effort with his head, and lacks a good goalscorers instinct, i.e. chance, bang, goal.

His general play has been very good. But to get a goal he'll need an easy chance or a lot of time, preferably both. But I could see him getting an assist for a Gerrard or Meireles goal.

    Reina

    Skrtel
    Soto
    Agger

    Kelly
    Johnson
    Aurelio
    Gerrard
    Lucas

    miereles

    Kuyt

kelly/johnson pushing up the wide areas. Lucas staying deep with Fabio allowing gerrard total freedom.

Alot of players are switching up field. Anyone could pop up anywhere tbh.

Not sure who you would take off. All I suspect is that if Suarez got those chances he would have scored.

I've watched the first half without any bother on the same site on channel 4.

Agger and Aurelio are both playing on the left side, though. Agger's getting forward the whole time too, almost a wing back himself, with Johnson playing well up the pitch.

It's like a Roy Evans team the way they're playing with three centre-backs and two attacking full-backs.

Strange, though I'd written Agger on the left lol

Aurelio is in the middle, johnson is left

Great technique with his weaker foot there. Meireles is going to be huge for us if he can keep popping up with goals like this

    Yes!

I love Kenny's smile when we score. Lifts the heart!

Don't remember him celebrating like that when he was manager before!

Only seen the second half but the tackles flying in so far from stoke they are going to have a man sent off. Poor Agger getting bashed

I really want Stoke to get relegated.. rotten cynical team

Poor ball from Dirk there... some great interplay from Pool tho. I'm waiting for the usual nerves to kick in and Stoke to come at us though. It's conditioned into me at this stage.
