myself and OH are going travelling and want to set up a joint current account so that we can get 2 bank cards(1 as back up while travelling).

What will we need to set one up together?

Photo Id in form of passport/driving livence

proof of address i.e. recent bill in your name

Each person will have to bring this in to get approved, and probably have to sign mandate also

Mandate will only be if you want "2 to sign", which is not what you need. Otherwise you can't have seperate ATM cards.

joint account mandate needed for all joint accounts.

in this case it can be "one to sign" or "both to sign".
