Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Folks, I purchased two Samsung 2TB HDD's (see my bargain alert here. They are HD204UI models and I have just discovered that they have a firmware bug that needs to be patched. Here's my problem....

Samsung have released a patch that can only be run in native dos mode. Also the disk being patched must be either master or slave on the machine running the utility. I have created a working bootable USB drive with the utility on it but I only have a laptop and a NAS. My laptop has no eSata, I have tried slaving the drive with a StarTech ExpressCard Sata controller but I think it only works in Windows.

So, I think I need to use a PC to access these drives and patch them. If anyone can knows another way please let me know.

    Here's my question.....
Is there anyone in or around Co. Sligo with a PC that I could use for a few minutes to patch these disks?

The PC would need to have sata ports and the operation would involve me putting 2 drives in for a minute and running a utility from a usb drive. It would never boot your own HDD so its a very safe and secure procedure.

If anyone can help I'd be very greateful. Obviously I will do the traveling etc
