Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I recently purchased an external Network Drive and was in the process of moving my data dfrom older HDDs to it. I made the mistake of cutting and pasting the folders around the various drives. Unfortiunately within a few eeks, the new drive broke down. I cannot connect to drive even though I can 'see' it in Windows as a Disconnected Network Drive.

The proprietary s/w can see see the disc, it can tell what folders are on it and how much of the drive has been used. The s/w interface tells me the drive is availabe but neither the PC or the laptops on the network can access the drive.

The drive is under warranty and the manufacturer (Iomega) accept that it needs to be replaced but the warranty does not cover the data. They would require min. £500 to recover my data.

As the only folder I really cannot replace is the photos folder (there's about 6 years of photographs stored) I could not justify spending that sort of money on photos.

They have said that I can try a local recovery agency first before returning the drive for a replacement. Is there anywhere in Dublin that you'd recommend that might be able to assist for a reasonable fee?

If you find £500 too expensive for data recover I'd say your likely out of luck when finding a company in Ireland that will do it for less.

Data recover is time consuming and so companys will charge alot for it.

Luckily I;ve always managed to recover data myself using the varity of applications available to do so, out of 2TB of data stored on drives that have failed in one way or another over the years I've got 1.95TB of that data back :)

Would you be confident enough to try recover the lost items yourself?

In a similar situation I used:

    And
