Surely this means Pringle is in?

I feel pretty bad for Contrary Mary tbh. She tried her best to serve Donegal in tough times.

BOD needs 4000 transfers would 4000 of marys votes be tranferable without any going to dinny or pringle or else where

No. The best news was that that Blaney lad didn't get in.

Only an auld flute from Dublin trying to fool the Donegal people.

Did RTE broadcast from the count? Surely, the exit of the Tanaiste is worth a few mins airtime.

Well done Thomas Pringle, well deserved in my opinion. And well done voters, who've used their heads to bring about a change.

Have to agree with the general consensus here in that the best of the pack got through in the SW. :)

Great stuff, even with all that's happened I was still expecting Mary Coughlan to keep her seat so certainly a welcome surprise. Glad Pringle made it as well.

Unfortunately it still looks like Charlie McConalogue will get in but one out of six is better than I was hoping for

    6th count donegal NE:

    MacLOCHLAINN, Pádraig (03) SF 24.5% 9278 9350 9585 9585 9585 9585
    McHUGH, Joe FG 19.3% 7330 7368 7513 7524 7662 8147
    McCONALOGUE, Charlie FF 17.4% 6613 6661 6795 6816 7064 7255
    RYAN, John FG 12.3% 4657 4710 4871 4884 4950 4976
    HARTE, Jimmy LAB 10.8% 4090 4162 4301 4319 4535 4801
    SHIELS, Dessie IND 4.9% 1876 1903 2063 2085 2299 2605

Dessie Shiels gone now and his 2605 votes to be redistributed, McHugh still 1300 short of quota....so it continues....

Pringles already created 2 jobs some kid!

Yeah that was annoying as they had to rush to another Dublin count, anyway well done Thomas a great result for the people of Donegal south west it will be interesting to hear all the excuses from the FF camp they were so cocky running two candidates thinking they could get two of of three seats those days are gone thankfully!

  • Registered Users Posts: 43,311 ✭✭✭✭K-9

Well done Thomas, 1 FF TD in Donegal at best, fantastic stuff.

7,000 odd votes to distribute in Donegal NE yet.

Ryan or Harte needs to make up 2,400 or so. Tough ask.

Mad Men's Don Draper : What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 534 ✭✭✭Lahm

To be honest I'd rather see FF get in than Jimmy Harte.

    Count 7 NE:

    MacLOCHLAINN, Pádraig (03) SF 24.5% 9585
    *McHUGH, Joe FG 19.3% 8731
    McCONALOGUE, Charlie FF 17.4% 7511
    HARTE, Jimmy LAB 10.8% 5646
    RYAN, John FG 12.3% 5081

John Ryans votes now to be distributed, i think this will decide it, count 8, Harte is closing but i dont think he will make it...heres hoping though
