Saw on twitter that Chelsea made a copy of our 9 Torres El Nino banner, but in blue. ...and with the Shankly gates still accidentally left on.

Gonna go for a 0-1 win to the reds today. Our defence is looking more composed, and our movement in their half is going to cause problems.

Edit: Liverpool to win @ 6.8 and Mereiles first scorer at 18.5 look good value on betfair.

Who is offering 5/1 ? I've only seen 9/2, which is still great value.

    Change bookies.

11/2 on betfair, could even touch 6's come kick off imo.

Whilst I think Chelsea will more than likely win this unfortunately, 11/2 + can be considered good value.

Personally I'm having a small dabble at Meireles first scorer @ 17/1. A man in form :)

Chelsea's attack is now more than capable of taking our defence to the cleaners

On paper they are, yes. However, Chelsea's defense isn't playing well either, Sunderland scored 2 and should have had more.

    2-0 Chelsea I think. Won't mind seeing

    Reina
    ---Skrtel-Kyr-Agger
    Kelly Lucas Poulsen Johnson
    Gerrard Meireles
    Kuyt

Johnson and Kelly as wing backs.

Chelsea should win today, but we haven't always done as we should this season so anything could happen.

If we're really up for it, I'll say 3-1 Chelsea

Wouldnt be surprised if we saw that again, it worked well against Stoke. But I guess it will depend on how Chelsea line up. Probably similar enough to ourselves, with a narrow midfield and width supplied by the fullbacks.

Honestly I'd put in Spearing or Shelvey ahead of Poulsen - the guy has no positive footballing characteristics

Hasn't been a 'big' PL game on Sky Sports yet with the FA Cup last weekend. Only Stoke v Sunderland yesterday and West Ham v Birmingham today.

spearing would be out muscled and shelvey is too attacking imho. If poulsen can just keep it simple, he could do a job for us today if he starts.

I'd fully expect a home win. I'll go with 3-1 to Chelski. Hope I'm wrong ;)

Chrsit they really do believe that money can buy everything......

My prediction: More flags than people at the match!

Poulsen has generally done well when he's played under Kenny, struggled against Blackpool but apart from that I've been pleasantly surprised.

    Liverpool team ?

Reina, Carra, Agger, Skrtel, Kelly, Johnson, Lucas, Gerrard, Maxi, Meireles, Kuyt.

Subs Gulacsi, Aurelio, Suarez, Jovanovic, Kyrgiakos, Ngog and Poulsen.

    Confirmed on the official site.

Same system as Stoke, presumably, with Gerrard dropping into Aurelio's role.

Maxi playing off Kuyt or Gerrard out wide right with Meireles in centre?

    Confirmed team:

    Something like this?

    Reina,
    Carra-Skrtel-Agger-Kelly
    Lucas
    Meireles
    Johnson--Gerrard----Maxi
    Kuyt.

or Agger left and Kelly right?

From Paul Tomkins so I'd say so.

Jaysus, same formation as against Stoke? Or 5-4-1?

Aurelio and Suarez on the bench, no Cole though.

Disappointed that Suarez isnt starting. Looking at that team, there is a real lack of pace also. Very excited about the game.

    Johnson

    Maxi

    Kuyt

Now we have the Liverpool team , is Torres starting ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,587 ✭✭✭✭Dont be at yourself

    Reina
    Skrtel-Carra-Agger
    Kelly-Lucas-Gerrard-Johnson
    -Maxi-Mereiles
    -Kuyt

Although if it's anything like Stoke, the formation'lll be very fluid, with pass and move total football the likes of which hasn't been seen since the Barca dream team! :)

As I predicted earlier in the week on here (to squeals of derision from Scouse fans) Liverpool playing 5 at the back. I was told not to be so stupid - it was a ploy to deal with Stokes aerial ability, when it was obvious to me that it was a dry-run of a system to try and keep Chelsea at bay!
Dont think even Rafa went this defensive..... C'mon Chels!!!

I guess its a good sign no-one can really figure it out. Total football!

    Something like?

    Cech,
    Bos, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole,

    Anelka
    Torres-Drogba

    Thats v-e-r-y narrow

It was anything but defensive last time. Agger, Skrtel and both of the full backs regularly got forward.

    Reina

    Carra
    Skertl
    Agger

    Kelly
    Johnsen

    Lucas

    ---Gerrard----Meireles
    Maxi

    Kuyt

    IMO.

Trying to match the Chelsea three/diamond in midfield with a diamond of Lucas, Gerrard, Meireles, Maxi. Wing backds to provide the width. Kuyt will do a lot of running on his own up front.

Not really 5 at the back. Dunno if you watched the Stoke game, but Kelly and Johnson were basically camped out in Stoke's half. Agger was almost playing as a wing back. Lots of runners from midfield when we were on the ball. Probably one of our more offensively-minded performances of the season.
