Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Weird Firefox Question....

....well not THAT weird, but here I go.

I want to hide or remove the "disable" button in the firefox add ons bit. You know the one where you have the list up and you can choose options\disable\uninstall.

I've googled around a bit and can't find anything in the about:config either.

    Cheers.

I think this is the sort of thing that may be impossible for good reason...

Figured as much. Just thought someone might have come across it here. I'm sure the UI is configurable to a point!

It was really just to add a site-blocking extension, then disable the user from....disabling the add ons. If you catch my drift. I think maybe my request was deemed malicious. When, in fact, it was quite the opposite.

    Thanks a mil anyways.

I think it should be possible to write a small program to find these buttons and either disable them or make them invisible. Buttons are just a type of child window of the main program. This wouldn't survive a restart of the program though. I disabled an annoying graphic from an older version of Opera before.

Alternatively, it could be done by editing the programs resource, with a program like ResourceHacker . I removed a shareware nag screen from a trial version of something before.

If I get bored I may try it and get back to you if I get it to work.

Ah yeah, please don't go to any trouble. Was hoping that this would be a quick config tweak that I could either add or change.

    Thanks a mil though.

Can you not just selectively block them at router level?
