Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I'm in 1st year - second semester - is that stage 1?

Stupid question I know but I'm unsure as to whether a stage is a semester or a year.

    Thanks!

Stage is the same thing as year. There are two semesters in each stage.

Except if you do Arts. Stage 1 is your first year in UCD. Stage 2 is then what any normal person would call second and third year. There are reasons for calling second and third year Arts as Stage 2, but it can confuse people!

And here is the official definition of a stage. A stage ends when you have completed the required credits for that stage.
STAGE A student will progress through an undergraduate programme in stages – Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3 and Stage 4 (where applicable). For full-time students, a 60-credit stage will normally be completed in one academic year (two teaching semesters). Part-time students may progress to Stage 2 after completing 60 credits over a number of teaching semesters. Programme specifications will define the credit requirements of each stage
