HTC tattoo - Wont connect to mobile network

Hi I noticed that my phone was not connected to any mobile network so I tried to manually connect to Vodafone. It came back with a message saying "your sim card does not allow connection to this network". I rebooted and tried again with no luck whatsoever. I tried meteor, o2, three and it still gives me the same message…

I think it might be the sim card as a couple of months ago this phone scratched the sim and I had to get a new one. Strange thing is that I can still go into my contacts and the phone reads the contacts from the sim card?

Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks

EDIT: Just tried another sim on my phone and it works.
