I know the link says girl but I'd call it a boy's name

I love it, but oh would not even consider it.
Defo a boys name in my book - Beau Bridges, Beau Brummel,
I would have thought the girls equivalent was Belle?

    Beau is a boys name

With a name like that he'll probably end up as a movie actor

    Or a French Foreign Legionnaire:
    Beau Geste

I'd consider it a boys name but no doubt she'd grow into it and it could be very unique for her when she makes it her own.

Of course you'll have to put up with a few raised eyebrows for years first. :p

Love the Name it could be worse she could want to sing her after a famous singer that has a ridicolous name.

I think it's a lovely unisex name but are you aware that Bó in Irish translates to "cow" in English?
If she goes to a school that teaches Irish, she may be ridiculed for it.

Beau is definitely a boy's name, it's French for a good looking guy I think. Belle is the feminine.

But Bo is a girl's name, I've known a Bo or two. so I suppose it depends on spelling.

You're not wrong it's a dire name for a boy. He won't thank you. Post this in the gentlemans club and see what they have to say - women are far more accepting of unusual names.

Grawns , your right me thinks...it would be okay if it was a social experiment to see if a child can succeed even when weighed down with a name like beau or Bo !!!!

does anybody else think of Bo Selecta when they hear that name.

I think unusual names or spelling are grand with girls name but i always like traditional names for boys.

But in saying that my daughter is named Elisha pronounced L-isha and i could kill the next person who calls her Alicia after i say her name. She's only 10 months and part of me wishes i had just called her Alicia as it would be easier then.

I went to college with a girl called Caira ( pronounced Cara). Needless to say, she was often called Ciara - made her very cross.

Saying that Elisha and Alicia do sound very similiar but Elisha is nicer and phonetic.

It's her parents she should have been cross with for giving her a common name with a stupid spelling.

I have a friend who called her little girl Beau. She is very girly. No one raised an eyebrow. If you want to be correct you might consider Belle?
