    Bollocks.

No chance of us getting anything tonight. IIRC, it's been 6-1 and 5-2 in the last two years at the Camp Nou. With Barca playing they way they are at the moment and us playing the way we are, it'll probably end up something similar. :(

I hope Atletí can pick up a draw.

Pep: “Anything can happen against Atletico”

This must be without doubt europes highest scoring game of the past decade.

San Andrés is back but Puyo and Jeffren still out.

Thiago is once again called up.

Got my new (half) season ticket for the Mestalla, looking forward to the game against Hercules tomorrow!!

It must be the biggest bargain ever, still have to play: Hercules, Gijon, Barcelona, Sevilla, Villareal, Madrid, Sociedad and Levante. All these games for just €163!!

Lets hope Ujfaluši isn't back to his old tricks :pac:

With Athletic 2-0 up on Gijon and Espanyol losing 3-1 away to Almeria it looks like we will be heading to 5th place by the end of the day, praying to god we can keep this run up and qualify for Europe.

    Almeria 3 - 1 Espanyol
    Zaragoza 1 - 1 Racing Santander
    Getafe 3 - 0 Deportivo La Coruna
    Osasuna 1 - 1 Mallorca
    Athletic Bilbao 2 - 0 Sporting Gijon

    All at half-time.

That's a massive massive result for Almeria, especially with Racing drawing too.

    Greatest ever we are witnessing.

    2 - 0

    39 for the season now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,068 ✭✭✭Bodhisopha

    Messi!

    2-0

I get the sense he's about to pull away from Ronaldo over the coming months.

Not taking anything away from Ronaldo.

Maybe not but he can certainly score many goals with his foot and a football.

Did they say the Copa Del Rey final is going to be at the Bernabeau?

Not sure as I am watching on La Sexta but if they did then they are just speculating. Official decision aint expected until next week - 12th I heard and the Mestalla has been touted most. Bernabeu nor Camp Nou shouldnt be allowed if you ask me as it will give one of the teams an unfair advantage.

They were saying that Guardiola said he'd play at the Bernabeu then when Madrid were complaining about Mestalla as the venue...

Think they where just talking about a quote from Pep that madrid complained about having it in the mestalla so he said have it in the bernabeu if they want.

Well, to fill you in on what Gerry Armstrong said, he said Real said they don't want the Mestalla so Guardiola said the Bernabeu is fine by him.

I read that he said he didnt want it in the Bernabeu as it will present Madrid with an unfair advantage.

    Brutal Alves tackle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,269 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

Pretty sure they had last year's final in Barca because having it in the Bernabeu would have been an advantage for Atleti. I can't see it being in the Bernabeu. Probably be Mestalla or one of the Sevilla ones.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,975 ✭✭✭iMuse

"We will go wherever they decide," Guardiola said. "We will turn up wherever the federation decides that we will play."

"It doesn't worry me at all. If it is at the Bernabeu, then we will go there. If it is the Camp Nou, then we will play here - they decide."

Thats a quote I found. Could always be a mistranslation.

Just sounds like typical no fuss Guardiola to be honest. He doesn't mind but probably knows it won't be Bernabeu anyways.

No I have read it now. He has actually said both it would seem.

The one I read was from a couple of days ago.

Could have been out of context.

Guardiola said it tongue in cheek I'm sure, like we'll beat them there anyway kinda thing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,068 ✭✭✭Bodhisopha

This is a C+ performance from Barca.

Madrid played the final in 2002 at the Bernabeu and were beaten.

Still, like Pep says common sense should see it played at a neutral venue.

I hope Aguero moves to a better club next season, even if it's Real. Fantastic player, somewhat wasted at Atletico.

I didn't see a lot of Barca this season, half a dozen matches maybe, and I think it's the best I've seen a team play ever. Not even the Barca team of the nineties with Romario and Stoichkov compares to them. A team I liked a lot and I still think they went towards goal in a more direct fashion compared to today's team whose endless passfest can look a bit complacent at times.
Just hoping that someone cam give them a proper match in the CL. Will be interesting to see the likes of United, Real, Bayern against this team. Can't see Arsenal going through I'm afraid.

I think the only way you will see a team give Barca a game this season is to go negative like Chelsea and Inter have done over the last two seasons. Many teams can try it, but few can pull it off. If Chelsea get their shiit together i reckon they're best placed to knock Barca out of the CL.

Real Madrid 2-0 up on Sociedad already, Kaka and Ronaldo with the goals.
