Which unmissable games have I missed??

Hey,

Do to cuts in pay and another 2 additions to the family I have decided to give up on the expense of new games for the moment and am going to work my way back on fps games which I have missed, which I shouldnt have, which I can buy 2nd hand!

The games I have played in the past 6 months or so:

Mass Effect 1
All the Call of Duties inc Modern Warfare
Medal of Honour
Assassins Creed 2
Battlefield 2
Splinter Cell Conviction
Sniper Ghost - wasn't a fan!
Dead Rising 2

There have been others but I cant remember at the moment!

So what should I be ashamed for missing out on??

Red dead redemption should keep you going for a while, not as cheap as you might like but it's worth it for longevity as are the fallout games.

Borderlands is well worth a punt too.

I remember playing Gears of War, is there a 2?

I played Dead Space and I still remember the sleepless nights!! Just like I had with Condemned!

What about the Fallouts and Fables, or FEAR? Is Killzone a PS3 exclusive?

Ah condemned was like Dead Space's ugly step-sister, the game is genuinely terrifying :eek: you must get Dead Space 2

Fallout 3 & DLC is a must, New Vegas wasn't as great in my opinion

Get yourself Dragon Age Origins and Awakenings in the Ultimate Edition. 150+ hours of a brilliant RPG! Bought it last December and spent the holidays playing it. First game to drag me away from first person shooters in years. It was so good that I pre-ordered Dragon Age 2 already, due out in five weeks time.

Mass Effect 2 is currently €6 on Gamestop.ie. €2 delivery, too. Excellent, excellent game

buy FEAR and then FEAR 2. also pop into dunnes and buy a few boxes of underwear. its worse than dead space. play it when everyones gone to bed.

Check out Vanquish. It wipes the floor with Gears of War. You should be able to pick it up for round about €20 or less. It's a criminally overlooked game. Just on my 2nd playthrough now and loving every minute of it.

This, Vanquish is a hoot and a half to play. any game that has a button that makes your character start smoking mid firefight has got to be worth playing :pac:

+1 for the following.

GoW 2. (Three is coming out this year....I think).
Dead Space 1 + 2. You may pick up 1 for a fair price previously played.
FEAR and FEAR 2. Same with FEAR 1. That should be cheap enough. (Third is coming out this year too!).

Also I'd highly recommend searching on eBay for games. I picked up GoW 1 new (from a top rated seller mind!) for 15e delivered! 20e for FEAR 2. New.

Both Fable II and Fable III are brilliant games. I never thought I woud like them but they are story and character driven, easy to get into (no complex controls) easy to navigate (no trekking around for hours) and just sheer quality. Well worth a look.

The orange box contains the awesome Half Life and the much missed Portal. Probably one of the best games ever to see life which you will never forget. The cake is a lie!!!!

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 3 is a fun pick up and play game.
My friends and I do not usually go for racing games, more into shooters
but we all thought it was great fun.

Borderlands - €9.99 pre-owned in Smyths now (and elsewhere I'd imagine) and great fun.
Assassin's Creed 2 - Something different from the FPS but still incredibly enjoyable and if you're looking to stretch your cash it provides hours of gameplay!

The Orange Box should be in every games collection. Its just SUUUUCH good value, every game is awesome and playing HL and Portal alone is worth the asking price. Should be dirt cheap now.

Fable 2 is excellent. If you havent played Fable 2, then Fable 3 is excellent because they are basically the same game.

Trials is ENORMOUS. Lots of replayability. Cheap as chips. Very fun.

If you like tower defense games, Defense Grid is a superb example of it. Its on XBLA and it has two expansions for it too. Lots of replayability with all the challenges. I still play it even though I have cored it out and sucked the fun from its marrow at this stage.

Forza 2... still playing it with mates and unlocking cars.

Carcasonne ... great multiplayer boardgame if thats your thing.

Catan... another boardgame... also excellent.


All of these are dogs years old in gaming terms and should be dirt cheap.
