    Hi,

I want to organise a UV light party. Wondering has anybody organised one themselves?

I'll need to get Blacklights, UV highlighters and paint.

Any ideas on where to get the above.

Also, as black lights are, eh, black, how can you light the room up? Have low watt bulbs? I haven't a clue.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Dunno if your still interested, but I organised one for work a few months back for underager's...huge success.

If you want to do it on a big scale, I can give you the company I used for supplies..paint, dancers, lights, the lot....great to work with and sound as a pound.

However, if its on cost, and you JUST want the UV effects, you can hire the UV cannons from most sound and light stores...I'd recommend Session Hire in Dublin...really nice guys in there and then buy the paint / glow sticks...

Thanks for that. Its not gonna be a huge party. Just around 50 people or so. I'll look into that hire place but as I said its only a small scale party.

Can I ask you where can you buy the UV paint?

From the Net, alot of companies do it.....but its VERY expensive and comes in small 50ML pots....

    http://www.uvgear.co.uk/

Alot of UV stuff on that site....costs vary dramatically...

    UV Lights...

Also if your somewhat technical / DIY'ish....The cheap option is to just buy and do a temporary installation of some normal florescent tube lighting and just replace the normal bulbs for UV tube bulbs.....you'll get exactly the same effect, for a fraction of the cost.

Maplins do UV bulbs that fit into normal lamp holders, they do 2 types, the 'normal' glass bulb type and the low wattage type. details here http://www.maplin.co.uk/search?criteria=uv be VERY careful with UV cannons, make sure they have been properly serviced and tested, as well as having a mesh on the front. When the bulbs explode, they can seriously injure anyone close.
