I just got it and it's class, as it works on my mobile phone Nokia X6.

    I hope she is accurate.
    53.3 clicks for a 600 yard Bunny!
    Assuming there is no wind:eek:

Glad you got it working Tac. Pretty sweet calculator for free and best of all, it works :)

I put in 350 yards today, gave the ammo I use, BC and my NPR-2 reticle.
and it showed my reticle exactly how I would use it to shoot 350!

I need to figure out what degrees the wind is, and wind speed to get a reading for windage @350+ yards

But it takes a good it of the guesswork out ;)

Do them wind meters read what direction wind is blowing though?

For the program to be accurate I have to input what the wind angle is at

If teh wind for example is blowing left to right the bullet will move 4.5"

    However
If teh wind is blowing from 2 o'clock to 7 o'clock the bullet may only move 2" etc

So it would seem that the wind direction is equally as important as speed

Shurly you can figure out the direction tack.

I don't know how the app works on your phone but on my iPhone. When you touch the screen where it says wind direction, degrees. A clock with 12, 3, 6 & 9 on it pops up and an arrow to indicate direction. The arrow can be orientated to show direction of the wind by dragging it with your finger.
    So what to do.

Stand facing the direction you are shooting and with the app on point the phone in that direction then touch the screen and drag the arrow in the direction of the wind. Job done.
    For example.
    Shooting 500.
    Wind. 23 mph
    Direction. 5 o'clock.

MOA. Up. 9.36. (Click to either 9.25 or 9.5)

    MOA. Wind. 5.05. ( click to 5.)

No wind indication arrows, Just degrees, 90 degrees right, 180 left etc

Very hard to be precise without knowing wind direction.

Still laughing at my IPhone tack.

You can still do it. Do you have the option to enter the wind in degrees. 30 degrees for every hour.
    Starting at 12 = 0. 1= 30. 2= 60. And so on.
Same thing for left side. 11 = 30. 10=60. And so on till you get to 6= 180.

If you want to be more precise allow 15deg for every 1/2 hour.

But how do you accurately tell the Wind direction
Looking at leaves on trees only gives a rough indication.
And some of my permissions has no trees or ditches

oh sorry i miss understood you there.
    there are many ways.
one is to stand in the direction you are shooting and imagine you are the center of the clock.
with some grass or something light hold it up and drop it.
the wind will blow it in the direction across you.

ie if it blows across you to 3 o'clock then 90deg from left to right

if it blows to 11 o'clock then its 30 deg from right to left

easy. some people use smoke if they smoke same idea.

but surely you can feel the direction of the wind on your face.

anyway. put the deg into your calculator along with the speed and the app will work out how the wind will affect the bullet as weather it is full value like at 90deg or 3 o'clock.
    or less value depending

speed is something i cant gauge but i try to guess from experience, a wind speed reader like the one clive put up is what you need for accurate reading of speed.

some of the more expensive ones will give altitude and atmospheric pressure and humidity which also can be entered into the app if you want;)

Thats all well and good for short range.
I have barometric Pressure on the watch, along with Air temp and altitude above sea level.
    Tissot Swiss ;)

I want it to be as accurate as possible so it takes out the guesswork

Tack it's looking like the auld story "When it's got for nothing the value put on it is nothing" It's a great FREE program.

Did you try tapping the small '>' in the blue circle, in front of the wind MPHinput box, to go to the wind direction compass sreen?
There is another graphic input for the slope angle as well.
But these may only work on a touch screen phone.

To get the real wind direction in the field try turning round until the wind is in your face. It's most lightly to be coming from that direction

Tack there are other more in depth calculators out there. I use an android phone so on that platform there is one called Shooter and on the Iphone there is one calles Isnipe. Dont know how good isnipe is cause I have only seen it but you have to buy both of those.
Might be worth a look for you.
