Being famous would be terrible!

yeah a lot of people would know who you are and a few would like you, but 10 times that amount would hate your guts for no reason at all, having never even heard your music/seen your movies etc.

This is because we're Irish!

How is MMA fighter in the top 8 reasons to be famous? And internet mods are usually anonymous, so they're not famous, apart from on a community of other anonymous people, where no one knows each others names . .:P

Already famous..When i walk down the street I hear those camera's,they don't think I know but I do!There's some papp in the garden right now...Also went to the garage the other day and got offered by a chap would I like him to fill her up...imagine that:D

About ten years ago, I used to get stopped in the street regularly as people used to mistake me for some actor who was popular at the time. At first, I thought it was gas. I enjoyed it, and played along for a few days.

Believe me, after a few months of this, I was fit to punch someone in the mouth. If it wasn't some teeny girls shouting at me across the street while I was with my family, it was some drunken nobody with a chip on their shoulder trying to start a fight with me because of all the attention I was getting. It really was a major eye opener into how there is some nasty, nasty people just under the surface of our supposedly civilized society.

I don't know how celebrities and the like manage to keep their cool, and they have it a million times worse than my little adventure. Although the fact that they have enough money to avoid the uncouth hoi polloi probably helps.

having all the money would be nice but it wouldnt be worth giving privacy and generally feeling safe for. look at cheryl cole, was the nations sweetheart but they slagged her off when she was cheryl tweedy of girls aloud (until they stopped making music, then they became cool girl band legends) and then recently the media has being tearing strips off her. lotta people are fed up with her - so i wouldnt fancy being at the mercy of an ever changing media

If you get very good at something to the point that you're one of the best people in the world at whatever discipline you participate in then you will gain some amount of fame. I think with that in mind most people would like to be famous, not for the fame but for the fact that it is often a side effect for something highly desirable. This is less and less true now with Big Brother celebrities etc, but they don't count because they're not real people.
